ABOUT US

The history of Marinis Pastry begins approximately 65 years ago, when Mrs. Aleka Marini started learning the art of confectionery by working at highly acclaimed and well known pastry shops of the time, such as Makridis, Flokas and Achilleas.

In 1975, after much deliberation, she and her brothers decide to open their shop on Amaliados Street at Panagia Faneromeni, which would have their own personal seal of approval and would express their approach to confectionery.

In 1996, they open their second store across the street from the Panagia Faneromeni church, now run by her children, Stamatis and Giannis. A wholesome pastry shop, now closer to the city center, with quality handmade pastries, ice cream, and a wide variety of chocolate products. With the slogan “Perhaps the best chocolate in town”, Stamatis and Giannis greatly refine their technique, leading to 11 awards in national artistic confectionery contests, as well as an international award in Croatia.

Creative Team

Dedicated and passionate, Stamatis and Giannis Marinis learn new techniques by attending seminars in France and Italy. While still going strong in the art of chocolate, they have been particularly acclaimed for their ice cream, which is made from high quality raw materials, chocolate and real fruit. This year they have innovated further, launching clean label ice cream, vegan ice cream and ice cream without sugar, using agave instead, as well as their own organic jam.

Over the past few years they have gained reputation and status for their incredible custom made sugar paste art creations. In 2019, a new chapter begins, with the old workshop now completely integrated into the second, larger store, now with cutting edge infrastructure, new machinery and fulfilling all the latest sanitary requirements. Carving a path nearly half a century long, Marinis Pastry gaze upon the past with a hearty smile and look to the future optimistically...to leave their great legacy to the quickly approaching new generation!
